POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Instructional Technology Coach (Google Classroom)

QUALIFICATIONS Idaho Teaching Certificate Previous digital classroom experience preferred – Google Classroom focus Demonstrated ability related to development and maintenance of web based interactive classrooms for children and adolescents Ability to effectively collaborate with and coach instructional staff. Excellent oral communication skills including ability to communicate with faculty if necessary on a digital platform Works well with students and staff Ability to support students effectively with content uploaded into digital platforms Ability to monitor content and communications daily within a digital classroom Knowledgeable with computers, including knowledge of word processing, data bases, spreadsheets, reports, electronic and/or online books, mobile computing devices, book search programs, digital research, digital citizenship, and social media management Works well under pressure and deadlines Excellent organizational skills Maintain confidentiality of staff and students   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY TO Building Principals and Superintendent   JOB SUMMARY Position is responsible for supporting the professional growth and development of all teachers to facilitate learning and independent application of effective instructional technology practices, specifically focusing on Google Classroom. Position provides support through planning, modeling, co-teaching, training, and data analysis across all content areas. Position plans and conducts professional development based on assessed building and/or teacher needs.   MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Essential Duties  Assists teachers in using Google Classroom effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences for all students. Coaches teachers in and models the use of creating and maintaining their Google Classroom to support and extend student learning outside of the traditional face to face classroom. Introduces teachers to new technology integration methods, materials and instructional strategies that have proven to increase student achievement. Participates in the school improvement process through goal setting and implementation as well as data analysis for instructional improvement. Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with supervisors to evaluate, select and implement technology enhanced learning experiences addressing content standards. Identifies technology integration competencies among instructional staff, in collaboration with school administrators, and delivers appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support the professional growth of individuals. Evaluate results of professional learning sessions to determine the effectiveness on deepening teacher content knowledge, improving teacher pedagogical skills and/or increasing student learning. Model and promote digital citizenship by facilitating safe, healthy, legal and ethical use of digital information and technologies. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.   Other Duties Regularly evaluates and reflects on professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. Supports the collaboration and communication among school and district staff through the management of electronic interaction venues, e.g. websites and video-conferencing. Coordinates with school and technical support staff for timely reporting of equipment needing repair, support issues or connectivity problems common to digital learning environments; as well as ensuring the smooth and successful deployment of Google Classroom. Supports and contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of secondary Google Classroom platforms. Must exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone. Able to lift up to 25 pounds. Be familiar with all relevant federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board Policy and follow them. Keep immediate supervisor informed of activities and any issues that may arise. Attend faculty meetings as required. Adhere to The Code of Ethics Represent the school district in a positive manner.
