REGIONAL DUAL LANGUAGE COACH 2020-2023

JOB TITLE: REGIONAL DUAL LANGUAGE COACH 2020-2023

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

JOB/GOAL SUMMARY: Support Teton, Jefferson, and Jerome School Districts’ Dual Language Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Idaho Administrator Certificate, and EL Endorsement
  2. Master’s Degree, and
  3. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in grades K-12, or
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist leadership teams in conducting annual needs assessments and program evaluations.
  2. Assist leadership teams in implementing and refining the assessment system for DLI classrooms.
  3. Assist with development of annual goals and action plans for DLI and EL staff, and administrators.
  4. Instructional support for continual growth of immersion programming in all 3 districts.
  5. Assist leadership teams in the development of a framework/PLC for collaborative support for DLI teachers across the districts.
  6. Classroom visits to provide support within the classroom around language acquisition and immersion.
  7. Professional development on best practices for immersion programs and language acquisition.
  8. Assist all three districts in parent involvement plans.
  9. Assist all three districts in PR plans for celebrating program successes and expanding community awareness around the DLI program.
  10. Provide coaching for leadership teams in each district as the programs continue to grow.
  11. Provide systems level coaching for implementing action plans for improved academic achievement of EL students in DLI classrooms and non-DLI classrooms.
  12. Participate in administrative team meetings and other such meetings as required or appropriate.
  13. Keep superintendent informed of progress.
  14. Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the superintendent or his/her designee.
  15. Create a culture of excellence, teamwork, and collaboration among administrators, teachers, and staff.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board Policy.
