Job Description

SCHOOL NURSE: Forge International School - a public school of choice - is seeking applicants for School Nurse position for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Purpose: To enhance the educational potential of all students by promoting wellness and facilitating the management of health conditions which create barriers to learning.

Performance Responsibilities: The overall responsibility of the school nurse has several components: implementing an individual plan of care for students with chronic health conditions, disabilities and those who require treatments or medications, and promoting and maintaining health and well-being of students, families, and school personnel through assessment and teaching. In addition, the school nurse will develop and maintain a system of first aid, recommend school safety measures, and promote a healthful school environment, including communicable disease prevention through identification and screening and the monitoring of immunizations.

The school nurse is responsible for collecting data and maintaining health records within professional and legal boundaries and school guidelines, and contributes to school district procedures with staff trainings. This position assumes responsibility for their continuing education and own professional development and reports to the school principal on individual school matters.
