Cherry Gulch is a small therapeutic boarding school in Emmett Idaho, accredited by AdvancEd. Our mission is to reinvest students in the learning process through individual, dynamic, multi-sensory education so that they can develop into independent and organized learners, problem solvers, and effective communicators. We do this through a balance of therapy and individualized classroom instruction. Our students range in age from 10-15 years old, are enrolled in grades 5-9 and present with various emotional and behavioral challenges that impact their ability to learn.
We are seeking a Special Education teacher with an open mind, who can think out-of-the-box to guide learning opportunities for our young men. We would like an instructor who shows how learning comes to life through real-world, experiential projects and opportunities, which allow for personalization for students’ unique needs and interests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with a cohesive team in a small, nurturing learning environment.
Teacher Requirements & Qualifications:
· Program and curriculum design and implementation
· Classroom management expertise
· Experience personalizing instruction for students with learning differences
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Idaho teacher certification with Special Education endorsement, all subjects considered
