Richard McKenna Charter Schools in Mountain Home, ID is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to serve our 7-12 onsite Jh/High school student population.
The successful candidate can start immediately! Also, a Signing Bonus of $5,000.00 is available to the successful candidate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Special Education Duties:
• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop pre-intervention strategies in a 7-12 setting
• Work collaboratively with teacher assistants, classroom teachers, and special education director
• Maintain special education records including eligibility reports and IEPs
• Determine what types of assessment data is needed for each student and test students to determine eligibility for special education
• Provide input at Eligibility and IEP meetings with teachers, administrators, and parents
• Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
• Discuss student’s progress with teachers, counselors, and administrator

Education required

BS in Special Education

Experience required

No experience needed, but helpful

Skills required

Ability to work with IEP and 504 students.
