Garden Valley School District is looking for an individual to fill the Special Education Director position starting next school year. (2024-2025)
Qualifications:
Valid Idaho Administrator Credential with Director of Special Education endorsement.
At least three years experience in public education, part of which must have been in teaching, ancillary services, or supervising in the field of Special Education.
Obtain college or university verification of demonstrated competencies in the following areas:
a. Organization and administration of student services, including foundations of special education.
b. Leadership, ethics, and management of change.
c. All forms of communication, including technology, advocacy, mediation, and counseling with parents of children with disabilities
d. Customer involvement and public relationse. Staff development and supervision of instructionf. Policy development as related to special education and related services
g. School law and finance as related to special education and related services, and grant writing
h. Curriculum development, integration of technology, delivery, and assessment as related to special education and related services
i. Student behavior management/positive behavioral supports/effective discipline
j. Diagnosis and remediation in special education
